What it means

Certification covers the tested configuration, including the chipset, firmware and antenna design. Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 7, WPA3 and EasyMesh are separate programmes, and a device can carry more than one designation.

Applies to

  • Access points, routers, extenders and mesh systems
  • Cameras, doorbells and appliances with Wi-Fi
  • Modules used as part of a certified end product

What it does not cover

  • Radio regulatory approval such as FCC or CE
  • Internet service quality or cloud performance
  • Mesh performance in every building layout

Verification checklist

  • Choose the certifications that match the marketing claims
  • Test at an authorised laboratory using the correct test plan
  • Transfer the module certification conditions to the host design
  • Display the certification marks and identifiers correctly
