What it means
Thread certification is separate from Matter certification, and many products need both. Border routers have additional requirements, and the network relies on a Thread border router to reach the internet.

Verification checklist
- Join the Thread Group and use qualified components
- Test against the current Thread specification version
- Certify the border router separately where applicable
- Validate coexistence with Wi-Fi in the target band
