What it means

Products must be qualified through the Bluetooth SIG and listed, and the design must be declared by the member company. Component declarations from a module supplier can reduce the test scope but not the obligation to declare the final product.

Applies to

  • Accessories, wearables and audio devices
  • Devices using Bluetooth Low Energy for setup or sensors
  • Modules embedded in a larger product

What it does not cover

  • Radio approval in the destination countries
  • Wi-Fi or cellular certification
  • App store requirements

Verification checklist

  • Join the Bluetooth SIG as a member
  • Use qualified components and record their declarations
  • Complete the declaration and product listing
  • Keep the qualified design version aligned with shipped firmware
