What it means

Anatel homologation is granted to a local representative, and the approved model is published with a homologation number that must appear on the product or in the manual.

  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular and RF products
  • Cables, connectors and network equipment
  • Devices that connect to public telecom networks

What it does not cover

  • INMETRO safety certification where the product also falls under that scope
  • Consumer warranty and after-sales law obligations
  • Tax and import registration

Verification checklist

  • Appoint a Brazilian representative as a legal holder
  • Test at an accredited lab against the applicable Anatel acts
  • Register the product and obtain the homologation number
  • Display the number and keep the certificate current
